I thought i had a blown power valve in my holley, so i did a few checks before taking the carb off, with the engine running yesterday i noticed some blue smoke coming from what looked to me between the fire wall and back of block. I have posted other issues i am having with this engine the day before somehow i think they are all tied together. I have never seen blue smoke out the exhaust, do not have exhaust leak, there are no oil leaks, i could eat of motor its that clean, it was not coming from PCV or the oil filler cap, i had the air cleaner off so i could see everywhere, when this smoke was coming out it was running not bad but not right either, then the smoke stop and it started running correctly. I have an aluminum eldebrock intake, all the bolts are tight. Anyone had a problem like this?
I never had an issue until i did cam, intake, and carb upgrade. I also replaced the head gaskets. I did all this about two years ago and 2k miles, had a worst problem back then turned out its was the intake gaskets.
When i had the heads off, i replaced the valve seals, when i inspected the head, i thought to my self the valves sure looked like they were recessed further in the head than what they are supposed to be, never thought i had an issue with the engine because it ran good, and now after doing research this is not nromal and could be an issue, any thoughts? I could tell the block had been rebuilt at one time and once again never thought there maybe head trouble. Is it possible these valves stick after a long run and would cause my skip after stopping but go away after taking off and will not do it during normal stop and go traffic?
