Can someone with an F250 4x4 with a 4" lift do me a favor.I need a measurement from the middle of the front hub to the bottom of the front fender. My truck sits a** high and my front springs are probably whooped so I would like to know how much the 4" springs will lift the front.
You do know that it was designed to have a rake to it. The rear would level out when you put a load on it. It wouldn't make any sense to just do the front springs when the rears are probably bad also. What do you want to do: have a level look, and not carry a load, or be able to haul something? You could remove a few leafs to adjust it, but you would lose some carrying capacity.
Rich,I know that it should be a little higher in the rear to carry a load.My truck is a flatbed dump and it is just way to high in the rear.My rear springs are fine as I have loaded it and it doesn't even squat.I would like to lift the front a little but I don't know if an add a leaf will do it or do I need 4" springs.
This will get you anywhere from 2 1/4" to 4" of front lift, depending on how bad your current springs are and cost you less than $500.00. Get new front springs from LMC, $175.00 each, about 100 for shipping, that will get you back to stock, take your old springs cut them like the picture below, add them to your new spring pack for an additional 2 1/4 inches of lift, you just have to change the center bolt and new U bolts, about $50. It's safe, the spring pack is bolted together and the u bolts lock it all together, it's not the same as adding a lift block which can kick out under the stress from turning.
Your ride is not affected because the springs you add are so short.
I did it to mine and you can see how it helped to leveled it out below. Measuring at the center of the bump, The back is still 2" higher than the front, but now it does not look like it going downhill sitting on level ground.
To answer your question, Mine measures 24 3/4" from center of hub to bottom of the front fender.
