Saw (2) 7.3 L 2WD Excursions today at a used car dealer in Anaheim. Both Limited trims with captains in the second row.

One was '03 green with 199K miles for $8995.
The other was '02 black with 207K miles for $7995.

Started the green '03 one and sounded sweet, but I know just about nothing regarding diesels.

Man, do I wish I had the cash...I'd scoop both of them up.

Those are very good prices!!

Check for rust along the bottoms of the doors and right above the windshield.

That's the dealer where I bought my Excursion last November.

The black and green Exes have been sitting threre back then already. I wasn't interested in them since they*re both RWD and I was looking for a 4x4 and lifted.

Cgeck the desired truck thoroughly! The dealer is a nice guy as loing as you don't negotiate too hard with him and as long as you don't point out any problems a vehicle has. He says he gets repairs done at a Ford dealership. Turned out he has "some guy" who has worked at a dealership or knows where one is or has seen one or so...

As usual when I buy vehicles for myself, I don't check them good enough. So I ended up with repair bills over $3,000 within the first two months - just to get started.
The truck is at a Ford dealership again right now...

If you are more thorough or if the dealer lets you get the vehicle checked at a dealership, you might catch a good deal though. My fully loaded '02 Limited with the 6,8L V10, lifted an lots of add on's was $11,000 and change incl. tax, title, etc.
It was the exact color and version I wanted, so I still consider it an ok deal, since I didn't have to compromise.
