finally ebrake works!

the shoes were out of adjustment a bit in the rear, and also had to bring in the adjuster on the frame about an inch worth of thread, but holds nice now

pedal still has about 4" of travel, and i didnt drive it yet so i cant comment if the pedal is still or doesnt sink.
i noticed one brake line was replaced on driver rear, so maybe it wasnt bled properly, ill do that tomorrow or after tomorrow. picked up a 1 man bleeder for 5 bucks from princess auto (kind of like harbour freight)
and merry christmas
one day in the f250 i was quite overloaded driving downhill on a logging road, looking for a place to stop and answer nature's call, if you know what i mean. well i couldn't find a flat spot anywhere, and that engine hated starting when hot, so i had to find a way to leave it running and go do my business without a working e-brake. well i stuck it in 1st-low, stood up in the doorway facing to the rear, and did what i had to while looking over my shoulder to keep the truck on the road. it all worked out, but a parking brake would have been handy that day!!
Wait until the flimsy, ****ty tabs Ford uses in the drum assembly for holding the parking brake cable steady, bends after using your parking brake. Then you'll hear an obnoxious cyclic high pitch squeal which increases and decreases with speed. Ford might as well have used 30ga sheet metal for the tabs.
yeah that was the issue on my old axle too.those brake lever bars bent because the shoes were not adjusted very well and the po pressed so hard it bent them.tired to bend 'em back and got it working kinda, but it still sucked.
replaced the axle latter with a true drw like iv wanted and it's nice having a good e-brake.
it's still not really enough to stop the heavy beast in the event of a brake blow out.but it's all there is and works great as parking brake, but iv no use for it as that.
