My plan (or should I say Bills plan ) was to get a 4x4 CC frame, swap in a Powerstroke and manual tranny, put my dually rear end under it, then swap all my body parts onto it. That last part didn't sound right lol. Cyborg Stroker!!!
This way I wouldn't need a cutting torch/grinder/welder/sawzall/ etc etc
That would work. In fact that might be the easier way to go to be honest. I have also seen guys using the 05 and up front axle and coil springs to make this swap. That will probably cost you more up front, but it would probably ride sweeeet! I might know a guy who might have a CCLB 4x4 truck for sale soon. Don't know if it will be for "parts truck" prices, but it's already a PSD and needs a body anyway.
Are you suggesting cutting my frame off in front of the doors and welding on the new frame w/ the 4x4 parts?
I have seen guys box in the frame where it needs to be boxed in, using the parts trimmed off a 4x4 frame and make the swap happen that way. It seems like a lot of work, but having seen both the 4x4 and 4x2 frames side by side, there isn't really all that much that has to happen to make them compatible. Really the biggest part that you have to change is the front of the frame horn, right up beside where the bumper bolts on. There is a section on the 4x4 frame to reinforce the frame there for the front suspension that the 4x2 frame doesn't have. I actually cut those sections off one of my 4x4 parts trucks and saved it... just in case.
My initial plan was to bite the bullet and do the boxing the frame approach but Im pretty bad about starting projects and then running out of time/money/interest. I figured if I did all the work to the CC frame to start off with, then if I did lose interest, my truck would still be intact and I can pick up where I left off when my time/money/interest comes back lol.

You might ask him what he wants for it. Im getting pretty desperate lol. I want my baby back on the road!
Me and the honeys got a camping trip planned for the middle of October, so that's my goal to have it done by lol

Turns out the one I had a line on is a RC. He's thinking over a price, I'll let you know. Middle of October will be the perfect time to come through Appalachia...
