sent from gs, my probe was way to short to be used at the end of the manifold. i had to slide the little brass crush sleeve up very carefully to that the tip was in the middle of the pipe.

My truck idles at 230-240, cruises 520 at 60mph flat ground... And on the top end, well needless to say, I can melt the bitch down...

Investment in a good EGT gauge is worth the money... Your engine can only tell you what your gauge is reading...

How deep does the sensor sit in the manifold? My Autometer sensor was almost deep enough to bottom out in the manifold.

It should be 1/3 to 1/2 into the pipe or manifold.

i just worked around it with a pari of pliers, if you hvae tightened it down, i am not sure if you will be able to move it(but i would still try a bit). you might go to a pluming sort and see if you can find a new crush and if you can VERY carefully cut the old one off so that you can slide it into the pipe.

Yes, it was not in far enough for an accurate reading. The clamp method glowshift sold me didn't allow it to go in very far. I should know the easy way isn't always the right way by now lol. When Ur lugging up a big hill and you hammer down she really builds up fast. I did that once on purpose since i didn't have a load on to see how high she would get. But judging from my numbers i got while driving i am completely healthy.
