Another Gearing Question

I an considering changing the gears in my 54. It currently has a 1975 351W, C6 and a Dana 44 with 3.92 gears. I plan on using the Dana. The gear options from Randy's are 3.54 or 3.08. I am wondering if the 3.08 will work around town. I am currently at 3200 RPM's at 70 MPH. Based on the chart I have been looking at 3.08 would get me to around 2500 at 70 MPH. I have considered AOD and a 9". I just want input on the above scenario. Thanks for the input.

I would go with 3.08 if your steering and brakes are able to handle higher speeds. I hate to hear and engine screaming when it doesnt have to.

You might get some answers also on the FTE forum "Small Block V8 (221,260,289,5.0/302,5.8/351w).

A 351 will have the torque to pull a 3.08 gear around town easily. That's what I would go with...
