Computer Dead?
I have a 99 f-150. Have never had a problem, but truck would not restart after being shut off for a few minutes. The anti theft light was flashing as if I had the wrong key, which I did not. Tried my spare key and it did not work either, so problem was not the key. Had it towed to the dealer and the tow truck operator said he was able to put the truck in neutral without putting his foot on the brake. I tried this myself after he told me this and was unable to do so?? Have taken it to the dealer and they say it is more than just the anti theft system and are leaning towards replacing the computer, I feel probably because they do not know what else to do. Sounds expensive. Anyone got any experience with this?
