If any of you or you know anyone with a 75 F-150 2wd you need to check this out. Ok, I found found this Factory Order Sheet under my seat in my 77' and I took it out and framed it because I thought it was amazingly cool. I figured that it was under the seat in my 77' and it was a order sheet from 1975 that sadly the 75 was scrapped or parted and the seat made it into my truck.
So what I got from this paper is.
F15YCX08140
F15 = F-150 2wd
Y = 360 C.I.D.
C = Made in Ontario, Canada
Trim T = Explorer
What I think I also know from this paper (Not 100%)
Paint Z = Hot Ginger Poly
Type of Cab A = Regular cab A/C
If this belongs to you or whatever LET ME KNOW. I will get this to you! I think this is a cool little piece of history to go with your truck.
Also referred to as a "Build Sheet". It accompanied the vehicle as it made its way down the assembly line.. then unceremoniously stuffed in the seatback or wedged under the dash.
Some 'Stang owners have found multiple sheets during tear down... also found - coffee cups, candy wrappers, rags, cigarette butts, eye glasses, and tools. Some diehards back in the 80s used to avoid vehicles built on Mondays and Fridays cuz the auto workers were either hung over from the weekend or were distracted in watching the clock to strike 5 PM to feed their thirst for some Schlitz!
Do you guys think there is any way to legally check the DMV's database to see if this vehcile is still alive? Yes it would have to be tagged to find out but just out of curiosity?
Factory build sheets (and much more info) available from martiauto.com who has ALL the original FoMoCo records for 1967/79 vehicles. FoMoCo has none of this info any longer.
Late 1980's: FoMoCo was planning to THROW AWAY all these records. Kevin Marti, a Mustang/Shelby 'nut' located in Phoenix AZ found out...and got ALL of it!
HIO Silver: Ralph Williams had one of the first new 1969 Continental Mark III's. There was a rattle in the left quarter below the glass, when torn apart, a Coke bottle was found.
At one time, cars had the exact production date stamped on the Warranty Plate, but this practice was discontinued at the end of the 1969 model run.
Beginning in 1970, the production date (month/year only) was printed on the 'glued on' Safety Standards Certification Label.
I saw one under my seat. Any tips on how to get it out or is it best to pull the seat?
I took my seat out and mine was in PIECES so I got out the glue and another piece of paper and glued them together. Mine was like a puzzle. But yea I just took my seat out because I was replacing it and I have to very carefully take it out to make sure it didn't brake any more. Its a 35+ year old piece of paper so what do ya expect. Good Luck!
I called ford for my 79 f350 4x4 lariat and it took them months to get back to me then they had the wrong vin so i straightened it out and months later the build sheet came in the mail. I thought it was pretty cool. I bet ND is right ford had to go to kevin marti to find it.

FoMoCo has to get the info from Marti, but is now charging a fee for it. It's no longer free. It's not free from Marti either, but can be obtained within days.
