2003 Heating Issues Expedition

Took the 2003 Expedition in to have heat issues repaired. They replaced the Air Door Actuator/Motor and controls. It supposedly worked fine for them. It was warm when I got in to drive home, but within 5 miles it was noticably cooler. By the time I got home (50 miles) it was most definitely cold air. I need to call and take it back in, but would appreciate something to point towards as a possibly culprit? I picked it up at 5:15, so there was no answer when I tried to call when I first noticed the issue was back.

I would check thermostat, water pump and heater core. Does your temp gauge go down as your air temp goes down?

If you took it in to have the heat issues repaired, no need to have a "possible culprit". The culprit is that the heat issues are not repaired.

But if you took it in to have the Air Door Actuator/Motor and controls replaced, well then.................

There are several fairly recent threads regarding the heat issue and it seems that there are problems with the heater core as well as the blend door. As PDQFORD said, if you took it in for the lack of heat issue it's up to them to fix it, if you took it in for the blend door it's a job you will likely have to pay for due to your mis-diagnosis.
One of my co-workers had his heater core replaced at a local radiator shop and they replaced the heater blend door at the same time as part of the job and only charged him $450.00, which was a very good price considering what the dealer wanted to charge for the same job.

also need help-similar

I am having similar issues, except I do get some heat. I have replaced thermostat, blend doors actuator and have also checked vacuum valve on fire wall. works fine.
I was wondering about the actual blend doors themselves except I am getting some heat when moving thermostat up and getting cold when moving it down. A/C is fine. But not enough heat, just warm, so not sure if blend doors are not working.
Heater core is not leaking so not sure what to do next? any suggestions?
