Bought an Aero 3030 muffler to put on my truck. I have all the tools to do this(welder,cutoff wheels and such). Question is I see the stock muffler is offset and the Aero 3030 is a straight through. I read that on the diesels,in front of the stock muffler there is a piece they can rotate 180degrees and it lines up with the other end perfect. Do we have such luck on our V10's or am I going to have to work for this one? Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!!

 

Once you get it installed, can you upload a sound clip or video of it. I would like to hear what it sounds like. Good luck with the install.

 

Thanks,I have been looking at it,looks like Ill be able to rig something up. I also put a 4" tip(Just a bolt on deal painted flat black) on it last night. Will be doing the muffler sometime either this weekend or next week. Will for sure post a video.

 

It actually sounds awesome and seems to help. Back about 6 or 7 years ago, someone put one on their V10 Excursion and he had a sound clip on the Aeroturbine website. Can't find it these days though...

 

I would like to hear a sound clip too. Please post something up for us to hear. I want something that sound good. Something that makes it sound like all that gas and cu inch is going somewhere.

Well fellas here ya go. I layed in the wet snowy driveway to put this thing on this morning. Lol,I now remember how much it sucked when I first started building my Mustang in my dads driveway awhile back. I can get different angles or whatever if you guys want. I think it sounds great. The video to me makes it sound louder than it actually is,I dunno if my phone speaker is messed up or what,but it doesnt seem that loud in person. Very happy. Oh a 4 inch tip is on it too. Other than that,all stock from muffler to engine.

 

Sounds good to me. I may add one to my truck when I get the chance. Thanks for sharing the video clip.

 

That sounds good, nice and deep! Some mufflers make the V10 sound like crap but not that one. I wish I could find some sound clips of the 3030XL. Supposed to be similar but not as loud. It has a built in resonator.

 

It is very deep,and it isnt that loud in person. Like I said I dunno why it sounds so loud in the video,lol. Oh well.

 

What are your opinions after driving with it installed? Any losses or gains or anything else you noticed?

 

So far it feels like the truck runs better. Don't know if that's just me thinking that or what. I don't feel like i have to hit the gas as hard to get up to speed. Doing an in town gas mileage test since 5star tune and muffler install. Was getting around 9.5-10.0 during winter months. Will report back.

 

Ive also heard that the cherry bomb Extreme is a popular V-10 muffler.
