Factory Brake Controller
Just bought my 06 SD and someone has installed an aftermarket brake controller because the OEM doesn't work. I would like to go back to the OEM but will need a controller and the 4 pin plug( or harness) does anyone have one?

First off, how did they install the aftermarket? Did they hack into the plug for the OEM controller or wire it in separately? It could be as simple as unplugging the aftermarket, getting a new OEM controller and plugging it in, or there could be more wrong.
You can buy a new controller from Ford or go the salvage yard/ebay route. I'll warn you they're not cheap to buy new but they do work very well.

I'll warn you, the OEM controller can be plagued w/ annoying alerts and messages, that's probably why the previous owner took it out. Mine has a continual TBC fault but it still works fine, hopefully yours will work when you get it hooked back up. Keep us posted!

Do they have those pull-a-part junkyards in your area? If so, you might be able to get the factory controller and the connector in one visit - cut the wires and take the unit and connector attached.

Yep,,what SC_Hoaty said, call around to your local Car salvage yards,,My 06' F-350 recently had a Brake controller acting up,,,,was siting in driveway in Park,,,controler was Beeping and Gain lights lighting up Blinking,,,New Ford contoller was $380 plus tax,,,salvage yard was around $160,,did not need the Harness,,,the Controller Just fits in the Dash with Friction,,,need to reach behind push and Pull from front and back,,,will come out ,,,,Good luck!
