1st --- is there a way I can tell which turbo it is by looking at it. Since I have an early '04 I am to understand that it is different, I found a "new" one on CL for $500, figured pick it up if it is mine.
2nd --- again early '04 I read a loth of folks saying 25+ boost readings. Most I am seeing is 16. I got the SGII at the same time I replaced y-pipe and boots. Not too long before this I popped boots 2x, they were saturated though so maybe just too much lubrication regardless of pressure. Also did account for MAP when programming BST on SGII at Idle it still reads no less then -1 usually -0.03 to - 0.05, rarely reads @ 0.00+.
The easiest way to tell the different turbos is, the 03-early 04 rear mounting bolts go in horizontally. The late 04-07 turbos have the rear mount bolt going vertically. The pic below, blue circle is the 03-early 04 rear bolt mount. Red circle is late 04-07 rear bolt.
Your boost looks low, could be up-pipe/y-pipe leak, failed flex joints, or CAC piping/boot leak. Got any codes? Maybe wrong programming in SGII?
