Hello All I have a 2000 Excursion 2WD and I think I may be having GEM Problems. Lastnite I was searching for a Parasitic Draw by using my multimeter and amp clamp ove the positive cables. I was Pulling fuses from Central junction Box unerhood and Found That my .50 mA Draw dissappered whe I pulled The fuse for the GEM. I then started pulling fuses frin the under dash fuse box and fuses 14 and 15 where the fuses causing this Parasitic draw. I then put all back together and when starting my Truck it started but I noticed that i couldnt roll windows up no Radio no accesories at all... So I shut her off and tried to start her up again and no start. So I left her overnite at school and when i went back this morning to start her up same thing and I see the theft PATS lights flashing. I messed around with fuses to get her started and I found That If i pulled the PCM fuse under the hood with the ignition on i would hear a relay buzzing then when I put that fuse back in and go to start my car it started so I drove her home and now Im back to square one.... Im thinking it may be the GEM cause nothing works inside my truck unless the key is rotated backwards to the acc position... My scanners data feed on PATS says none of my key are present.... Thats totally wierd... Can anyone give me some feedback if theyve had this problem before?
I pulled a code a while back related to my wastegate and I had the stealership take a look at it because of time/needs. They said it was related to my GEM and that I should have the windshield resealed. I thought that was a bunch of bs and knew it was related to a new tune I tried. They said that water is getting to the GEMs and cause problems such as you described. Also, they say they don't make them any more and its hard to find used ones. Have you driven in driving rain recently?

Yeah, it's supposed to do that. You have to wait about 35-45 minutes from the last thing that activated anything in the GEM module before checking for parasitic draw.
