Explorer wheel part# unidentified - need help

I have four Ford wheels that have the number E87A-1007-BA stamped on the back side. I think they are from a 91 Explorer. Can anyone tell me where, when, and for what they were manufactured? Thanks for your help!

Looks like old Ranger or Explorer. Put the part number into Google or Yahoo search and you will find a whole bunch of hits.

Thanks George, but I should of said in my post that I already tried that. I got 41 hits and all were ads for selling them. The only thing I'm pretty sure of is that it is a Ford part number. Thanks anyway.

I don't understand your problem or question. If wheels with this part number are being sold as 1988 Ranger wheels, 15x7, 5x4.5 bolt circle, as in one of the ads I found, and you had them on a 1991 Explorer, what more information would you need? They were probably used for a bunch of years because Rangers and Explorers did not change for a whole bunch of years and were a Ford OEM wheel...

I'm trying to sell them, and I would like to have all the info on them first to give the best description possible on eBay. I know it sounds crazy, but now it's bugging me and I just would like to know why the part number doesn't show up on Ford's website. Thanks.

so, it must be an '88 Ranger Wheel. Does that sound about right? I found the info on these two websites: Ford Part Numbers, Casting Numbers, and Date Codes

and Decoding Ford casting part numbers .

I still don't know why that part number isn't showing up on the internet. Was it discontinued by Ford? Any suggestions?

Most buyers will prefer to know that it has 5 lug nuts on 4.5 inch bolt centers and it is 15 inches diameter and 7 inches wide..... as George said. That will fit ANY Explorer, Ranger and most of the small cars that FORD built for the last 20 years. It is NOT just a "bronco wheel".

That's an "engineering" number, not a "part" number.

Welcome to FTE

There are no Ford part numbers marked on parts after 1956. Just casting and ID engineering numbers (when applicable).

Casting numbers are foundry marks, cannot be cross referenced to Ford part numbers. ID engineering numbers can be cross referenced to Ford part numbers, as you can see:

Marked with ID engineering number: E87A-1007-BA = Ford part number: E8TZ-1007-B .. 15" x 7" Styled Aluminum Wheel.

Applications: 1988/90 Bronco II & Ranger / 1991/92 Explorer & Ranger / Bronco II cancelled at the end of the 1990 model year.

Info sources: 1991 Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Master Cross Reference Catalog / 1980/89 & 1990/2001 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalogs.

Received my Xmas present early, a two week cruise to Hawaii (12/5 - 12/19).

Dunno what "She who must be obeyed" is gonna give me for New Years, I hope it isn't the ten grand bill for the Hawaii cruise.
