I read alot of posts that mention the 5 star up-grade, I know mine is a 5 start but I am wondering if anyone has compiled a list of all the differences this up-grade would have meant for the 52 truck owner.
There were multiple differences between the 5-stars and the base-line trucks. I'm sure if you use the search feature above, you'll find a plethora of threads about the differences. Another tip is to do a google search and type "FTE" into the search line along with what you're looking for. Works well.

Thanks, I did not know about the google trick, I will have to try it sometime. I still wonder though if anyone has put this list of differences on one page.
The "5 Star" is the base level, the "5 Star Extra" is the deluxe level. Here's the page from the salesman's handbook. Stu
OK now I am confused, if the 5 star is the base level than which package is less than the 5 star. Every post I read shows 5 star as some sort of up-grade over a base or lesser level of truck
You're confused because usually guys say it wrong when the subject comes up. There is no trim level package below the "5 Star". It was simpler during the 48-50 years because there was no deluxe trim package. Stu
Take a look at Stu's post. There's a list of the EXTRA options. Magic Air heater and radio were options in addition to the regular or EXTRA optioned truck.
Right. There are accessories that could be purchased individually, but were not part of either the base "5 Star" or "Extra" package. Magic Air, and radio are major examples that could be ordered with either trim package. There's a period brochure that covers the wide range of factory optional equipment. Then, if the buyer wanted to go further, there were all the other options that were detailed in the Hildy's Blue Books for each model year. Hildy's books contained ads for all the factory approved ancillary equipment manufacturers. That's where my Marmon-Herrington equipment was advertised. Stu
Ilya posted this in the thread about the underhood light. The arm rests caught my eye; they appear to be attached without the extra plate that Extra cabs had? Maybe the plate on Extra cabs was just because of the other door panel stuff that came with an Extra?
Or maybe the arm rests ripped off the door without the extra plate and that's why it was added in 51. I wouldn't trust that arm rest mounted directly to the door without a reinforcement bracket to disperse the weight applied to the arm rest.
More from the 1949 Hildy's Blue Book. The options changed slightly for the 51-52 model years. Boy, would I like to find the actual hard copies of the 48-52 Hildy's Blue Books.
