Engine runs bad

I have a 97 f150 4x4. I Like an idiot power sprayed under the hood and now my truck runs horrible and the engine light is on. Any suggestions to what it might be before I have it checked out.

pop the hood open and let it sit in that hot vegas sun, you might get lucky and dry out whatever got wet, some kind of fan or compressed air might help out. if you can get it to run it might generate enough heat to dry itself.

More than likely you blew 1 or more coils. Once water gets into the sparkplug well, the coils shorts to ground, and you get misfires. Havethe code read to see which plug it is, and replace the coil. Be prepared for more than one, if not now, very soon. Your only salvation may be to pull the coils, blow the water out of the well w/compressed air, and hope they still work.

I had that with my old old old ranger years ago. I sprayed every cinnector dow with "wire dry" and blew out the distributor (which you don't have, ofcourse) with compressed co2.

Probably did blow a coil though, they dont seal real well from what Ive read on other sites.
