Oil system cleaning

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 300 and I wanted to know if there was a good way to clean out all of the oil passages while I have the motor apart? I even had a crazy idea of filling the crankcase with diesel and maybe a degreaser once I get it back together and then running the oil pump manually for a while to kind of flush everything out and then drain and fill with oil and prime? Ludicrous right?

I would take the plugs out of the gallerys and use a gun cleaning rod with a brush. Make sure the crankshaft oiling passages are clear also.
