I need a new under hood harness. Its the one that plugs into the computer and "big round white connector" on the firewall and runs along both fenders and in front of the radiator.
I pulled a red tape with grey trim off the harness at the ECU end of the harness. I will try and attach a photo, but here is what is printed on it
ED E9TB-CE
12A581
ED= ??? I have no idea
E9= date code - 1989
T= Product line - Light Truck & Bronco I (1983-up)
B= Source code- Body and Electrical Product Division
CE= Suffix - A single letter would indicate revision and would effect compatibility, I dont know what 2 letters means
Truck is 1989 F150 XLT Lariat, regular cab, full size bed, 302fi, M5OD trans.
Too many stupid mechanics have done too many stupid things and now a real Ford mechanic is telling me the harness aint worth trying to diagnose. Gotta get an un-butchered replacement.
Please help.

The drawing/engineering number you are looking at is E9TB-12A581-CE.
A Ford dealer should be able to cross the drawing number to a part number.
But I do not think you will find one at a dealer or be able to order one.
Your best bet is to get one from another 1989 F-series truck.
For never puts the part number on a part. Only the drawing/engineering number.
The part number for an example would be something like E9TZ-12A581-C.
Note the "Z".
