Decoded Ford Part #, stuck on SUFFIX...
I pulled a red tape with grey trim off the harness at the ECU end of the harness. I will try and attach a photo, but here is what is printed on it
ED E9TB-CE
12A581
ED= ??? I have no idea
E9= date code - 1989
T= Product line - Light Truck & Bronco I (1983-up)
B= Source code- Body and Electrical Product Division
CE= Suffix - A single letter would indicate revision and would effect compatibility, I dont know what 2 letters means
Truck is 1989 F150 XLT Lariat, regular cab, full size bed, 302fi, M5OD trans.
Too many stupid mechanics have done too many stupid things and now a real Ford mechanic is telling me the harness aint worth trying to diagnose. Gotta get an un-butchered replacement.
Please help.
Diagram of the harness (its the one running from drivers side big firewall connectors around the front and perimiter of the engine bay and back toward the passenger fenderwell firewall...

1. You might get more responses if you post in the 87-96 F150 section.
It's a pretty active group.
2. I do suspect that they will recommend that you try a junkyard or look for a donor vehicle. Harnesses are generally manufacturer only parts, and Ford probably doesn't have any of that vintage. But, who knows, maybe somebody has them.
Good Luck,
hj
Your right ford doesn't make it anymore
