I know dual pattern cams run better but I'm looking for low end tq and the 2150 carb is awesome for offroad, so with the restrictive intake side compared to the free flowing ex side, then I'm thinking the in could use more dur.
according to the specs you gave and the cam you spec'd my engine pro soft dyno says...219.3hp @ 3500 rpm,367.7tq @ 2000 rpm.I also did an auto select on the cam and the program gave a 255*-354" 116centerline cam producing 231hp@3500 and 399tq@2000.these are just estimates because of so many different variables.hope this gives you a baseline to go by.... have fun,go fast...
Thanx!!!
It's a little low, I was hoping for 300hp and 400tq, but that will work for me. If you are not busy try it with 500cfm 2bbl and a 850cfm 4bbl. 75cc heads, cam has 110 centerline
I ran my motors specs on dyno 2000. I included bench flow head data, cam, everything and the result was 295 HP and 445 ft lb. I dont remember the rpm's, i think it peaked around 3500.
Can anybody else run this combo on dd2k. I want to use a 2150 for offroad ability, but I think my 800cfm Thermo-Quad would make more power, but how much more? Am I losing alot of TQ?
Ok,OK, I just like to see new Hp and Tq specs.LOL
355hp @ 5000 rpm 430tq @ 3500 torque is basiclly flat from 2k to 4k rpm
372hp @ 5000 rpm 435tq @ 3500 torque is basiclly flat from 2k to 4500 rpm with 4V valves
same combo with 650cfm 4bbl
352hp @ 5000 rpm 429tq @ 3500 torque is basiclly flat from 2k to 4k rpm
368hp @ 5000 rpm 433tq @ 3500 torque is basiclly flat from 2k to 4500 rpm 4V valves
I would say that the 650 4V carb is the better choice. Using 4V valves is up to you.
hey gt40man run my combo on your dyno & see what you come up with? 400 +.030,cleveland 4v heads,280*-579" roller cam,750cfm dp,headers,windage,electric fuel pump,high flow water pump,plastic fan,heads have 2.19-1.73 valves & ported.I think CR is 11-11.5 mine says i have 502 hp - 468 tq
thanks for your time!!!!!
What would be the best low rpm camshaft that would aproximate the 268/218 comp cam? I was crunched for money or I would have gotten the custom grind from the hotrod article. What inexpensive split duration cam would make more low end with my package? DD2K please, for the new cam.
