I dont remember seeing a tag on the firewall, these days it is almost common ( again please remember this is FL, alot of the dredge of our society like to congregate here ) to remove the VIN stickers on sheetmetal ect and transfer them to new replaced parts.

I worked for a guy that would photocopy the stickers, laminate them and then stick them on the new ( sometimes aftermarket Taiwan ) parts.

I have actually been looked at sideways in many a shop because I have told them I wouldnt do it. I just have no interest in that, I am no angel and dont have an issue with alot of stuff that may be considered questionable by the MOST UPRIGHT and law abiding citizens but when you get that deep I dont want to have any part of it.

Just dont need the money that bad and my tool box still has wheels. ( although they are looking mighty worn these days

No title in possession at this time.

Do not know yet haw DMV will handle it. Weight wise

Do not know yet weather I will be able to get historical or antique plates for a truck this big.

Time will tell
Good luck, I truly feel for you. I am still having stomach palpitations over the insurance for this thing. Commercial vehicle over a specific weight in FL = High dollars a year. Cant justify spending that so I am hoping because of the VERY seldom times I will be driving it I can get away with Haggerties or one of those.

Im still waiting for the New York flood vehicles to show up, those will be good times for a bodyman and gotta take it while we can. Word of warning for everyone reading this though is dont go to FL for a used car anytime soon

Now that I think about it dont matter where you live, we ship world-wide

LOL, back in 1998 up here in Northern MN, we got all the cars from out West that had volcanic ash damage. Buffed them all out and the dealers sold them as new.

Back to your question on insurance.

I checked around and found a great rate with State Farm for ~$200 / year without any requirements/restrictions on storage or use. This is the same provider we use for other vehicles and home owner coverage. It appears that not all SF agents are savvy so you may need to keep asking questions to get a good answer.

Hawaii, if I remember right. TH Auto had gotten several cars from Sonju's dealership. Had them buffed out and brought back to Sonju's to be put on the lot.

Hello 49r, I have S.F so that would be nice, do they require you ( did they ask ) for you to have inside storage, what is their limit on mileage, can you give me more specific details about the plan.

I have asked my S.F agent in the past about this and I only received the glassy eyes look. Thank-you for the info

The only issue I am having is that I have been told the truck needs to be inside storage, this is not an option for me since I only have the two car garage and no way it can go inside.

Did you have this same requirement or was I possibly speaking with a rep that did not know the policies of their company well enough?

I live in a good neighborhood, we all have a bit of property compared to most other FL homeowners so plenty of room at the side of my property for storage but that is it.

Just curious, what was their requirement for mileage, where you could and could not go, how they monitor ect ect. In my case I plan to use the truck every once in a blue moon if I have to go to the dump or maybe H.D or if myself and wife just want to go for a cruise or to a show. Maybe a couple hundred miles a year at the very tops. we have other vehicles for everyday driving and no reason to waste the fuel otherwise.

I think one of the better ideas is to actually call Hagerty. They have better info then the street agents. 800-922 4050 My cintact was Kyle. They were very interested to help and was very helpfull in awnsering my questions.

I found in the past that if you are dealing with a reg. insurance agent, that handles many types and kinds of insurance, that their rates vary on policys

Thanks; called Hagertys and the vehicle has to be garaged for the state of FL, unrealistic!

I doubt state farm is going to do it because of the size, they are going to see it as a commercial vehicle and give me the thumbs down but I may be wrong.
