Regular C&C flatbed value
I have the opportunity to purchase a '97 F-350 C&C non-dumping flatbed, 4x4, auto with 140k miles. The truck runs, and shifts great and had the transmission replaced 2 years ago. Mechanically it is in great shape, however the cab is very rotted out and needs replacement. What would you guys value this truck at given the fact that it needs a cab replacement before it can even be registered and start making money?
Thanks for your advice,
Chris

Thanks Brad, the truck also comes with 6 new tires and a damaged/ outdated snow plow. Does that increase the value at all?

The plow parts are available but sometimes expensive due to age, used body parts are hard to find here in mint condition due to it being CT. I am still thinking $2k is about max on this truck for me.

USED tires ad $300 to the price(they are now used)
and a old, outdated, damaged plow ads NOTHING to the value
Just because scrap is up, doesnt make these rusty trucks worth any more
Just for comparison(yes I shop around, but you have to) I bought these
$1000
needed a rear axle had 70-80k(PSD auto 4wd)
$1800
Needed paint (70k PSD, 5spd 4wd)
$1000
Needs brake lines(145k PSD 5spd 4wd)
$1500
Needed Fenders and cab coners(121k PSD 4wd 5speed)
$1000
Needed plow BLADE, batteries and glow plugs(IDI Non-turbo auto 4wd)
$3000
Needed quit a bit(99 F550 4wd 6spd PSD dumping flat bed)
$1000
Needed batteries, fuel pump LPOP(96 F-superduty 5speed, Non-dump flat bed)

WOW Brad! What have you done with all those trucks? The one I am looking at reminds me of your red c&c but this truck does come with a bed.

Wow brad I am thoroughly impressed! That is what I would like to do with the truck I am looking at except keep it in the end. Is this something you do full time or on the side?

Just something to keep me busy with my "spare" time.
Not all the trucks get THAT treatment. I was going to keep that one so I went a lil overboard. I didn't make a nickel off that truck
But I will not sell any of them until I fix the problems or disclose the problems

I've wanted to do this for years, never had the money to start or the space if I had the money. =\
It always sucks for me.
I know how to make lots of money if I have money, but there is always something holding me up, money, or place to do it.
One or the other.
