the Expedition steering wheel is shallower than the original Aerostar steering wheel, so it ends up being closer to the steering column by about 1" inch or better.

yes, on my one-and-only '97. I found out that for Turn Signals/Flasher/High Beams, I can now just flick the stalk switch with a finger instead of letting go of the steering wheel to operate the stalk switch. This is definitely an improvement. And yes, everything works, Cruise On/Off/Set/Resume/Coast/and lighted switches. Yes, airbag is disabled. I refuse to have a 15 year-old explosive device pointing at my face and chest. But if I were to sell the vehicle (I doubt it), I can reverse the disabling of the airbag and put everything back how it was, including the horrible original steering wheel. For starters, I can see the turn signal indicators now, I couldn't before with the original steering wheel. The driving pleasure has increased 100%. No other way to put it.

next mod is the F-150 gauges pod with tachometer. Haven't found a decent one yet.
