cold start troubles!!!
I have a problem when ever the temp outside hits about 35 - 40 degrees and lower. the truck starts easy enough after i cycle the gp's twice. then after a big puff of blue white smoke, the truck begins to idle normally. BUT when the truck enters the warm up mode and starts to recurculate the turbo "the loud hissing" to put a small load on the motor i assume. and trys to idle up. the motor begins to chug and load up and eventually quits. after that i might as well plug it in and wait an hour or 2 to warm it up and get a charger out and get ready to crank for a good minute before it fires again at wich time after some heat in the motor from the heater avoids the previouse problem and warms up like normal. now i know i have a couple of bad glow plugs, but once running the gp's should play no further roll in the matter. i am wondering if the intake heater could play a roll in warming the air to prevent what i think is the cylinders being chilled and choking out the motor. i do have an after market spectre cold air intake on the truck. i am just looking for some direction before i jump to conclusions like bad injectors or something! please help
i should add that on a 45 to 50 degree day if i start the truck and dont let the thermastat atleast reach the C on the gauge it will quit the same way right on the road!!
