I changed the wheel size on my 2005 and need to reprogram the computer. I have been looking at the least expensive way to accomplish this since I don't plan on doing any other computer adjustments. The Superchips 1714 is for 2004 Ford gas engines which I think is my best bet. Since the 2005 Ex used the same motor as the 04 (vs changing like the Superdutys did), will this work? My concern is that somehow the programmer will recognize that the truck is an 05 and wont work. Hoping someone can clarify or recommend another option!
I have a Superchips Cortex 1950 - I bought it for my 5.4 Expedition and for what I wanted at the time it was perfect. I wanted to set in heavy haul mode, take off the top speed limit (obviously not when towing!) and re-calibrate my speedo as I had gone from 17" rims to 20". I found it really easy to use, just plug and play, and I could get my speed and miles exact to my gps.............and today I just unlocked it from my expedition and set it to my diesel excursion, so at least it can be used on gas and diesel.
