fuel injection tank

On a 92 fi . It looks like with the proper insulaters and frame pads
the tank is isolated from the grounding system.?

Don't think my 94 has strap insulators.

I don't have my wiring diagrams in front of me, but I seem to remember the sender and pumps being grounded through the harness.

They are grounded at the left upper radiator support (drivers side) G100.

yep

I see pumps are and the sender are grounded. Sometimes in high voltage
manufacturing they will run the electric through an isolation transformer seperating the ground from the system. If there the wire goes to the machine it has no relationship to ground.might save somebody. I didnt no if they tried to keep the tank seperated from the ground so if the fuel pump wire got loose or touched
one of the tubes it woudnt do any thing till you grounded out the tank.
But I guess with static as a consideration and the wires are tough they grounded it. You dont here to many blowing up.I was looking at the original thing with the isolators at the straps and the Isolation pads
on the frame. I think when they started doing f.i they started using plastic. I am taking my mid tank out. I dont need it.(its out already)
I need 5/16 and 3/8 plugs for the quick disconnects. I am thinking of
getting the top of the sender and cutting it of and sticking on the frame
get the holes welded shut. Stainlesssteel welding I know nothing about.
I just park the lines there and if I want to put a tank in latter there right there. Park the electric there to I guess.?????/(laughing)

The frame is not used as a ground in your truck. It may be grounded with a center lug in the battery ground cable. But if someone replaced the ground cable with one without the center lug then your frame may not be grounded at all. The only time the frame is used as a ground is for trailer brakes and trailer lights.

But the body must be grounded with a large wire from the NEG post to the Body G101 so that G100 can become a ground.
