Exclamation HELP!!! (77' F150)

Hello all,

I need help finding the correct harness/pigtail for my ignition switch on my 77' F150 4x4..

I ordered the wrong one from LMC truck and it wont fit.
The PO wired a kill switch using 18 gauge wire.
So it heated so hot that it melted and wasn't making making some connections to the ignition switch thus leaving me in front of school with a broken truck.

And the ignition switch is a 6 prong.

Thanks so much.
--Bryan

And BTW the truck is sitting in the driveway un-useable... So I really need to get it moved.

Ford didn't sell a pigtail to repair the plug. If you want a pigtail that you can splice into the harness your best bet would be the local salvage yard.
Ford sold the plastic shell that the wires fit in and the terminals that are crimped on the wire ends.
The plastic shell is part number D8TZ-14489-E
Green Sales, Cincinnati, OH has 16 (800) 543-4959
Parts International, Farmers Branch, TX has 3 (972) 241-8730

The terminals are part number C1SF-14474-A
Bowman Sales and Service, Bowman, ND has 10 (701) 523-3257

Auveco also has the terminals their part number is 15504 for a box of 25.

Just note though, these terminals are "non-insulated open barrel" terminals and a regular crimp tool won't work, you need terminal crimpers with jaws like in the picture, it puts a very tight crimp on the wires.

The quickest way to get your truck running is to just get some 1/4" female spade teminals and crimp on the ends of the wires and plug them into the switch without the shell. Not the way I would do it, but it will get you running.

I thought of an alternate way to wire it.

Do you think it would be possible to use new crimp on connectors and replace all of them and then plug them in to the ignition module and epoxy them in place?

Filling the "collar" part of the ignition with a glue or epoxy just to keep it more secure.

Thanks
