With ALL this Bronco psd talk going around I am having some second thoughts about dumping so much into my cc. Im thinking IF I am more conservative I could put some into doing this other project....With that said...
my cc is all stock except intake and exh.
IF I did a set of stage 1"s,t500,chip,maybe ic...is it possible to get 300-350 hp? or am I off base. The ol gal has 320000mi but is running great and not turning the oil black after change even.I would rather not do efuel even. I will save all that for the bronco project..
I just need the cc to pull my tractor/bush hog (10k lbs) is about as much as I will prob ever tow.so What do you all think?good,bad,insane...I have had 2 broncos and they were great except the mileage sucked.Im thinking a psd could make one practical for my family...
From everything I've seen, a stage one setup will net around 300-325 horsepower, so I'd say your in the ballpark just fine. Not sure if the stock turbo will push you there though? Most setups ive seen around that power range have something like D66 or S366 to go with the stage 1's. Like i said, im not sure though.
i been scouring ebay, clist etc...anyone know how to search c-list all of them at one time.it will take forever to do each city and state...
Rob,yea,I am not sure.I dont want to brake the bank or i cant have the bronc..lol...thanks its all Bills fault hehe
Checkout searchtempest.com when I was searching with 1k miles for parts for my Challenger I used it. It helped me compile all the results from various places to see pricing, and what was available. Ended up having to drive 6 hours one way for parts, but I got them for a decent price. I figure serviceable is better than nothing.
I got to blame somebody..you seem to have broad enough shoulders and since you are gonna live through me...I figured you got the blame hehe
I wonder what a fairly light bronco(compared to a big pickup) would do on the highway as far as mileage? think 20? better? driving like i need economy obviously.

Stage ones, chip, and T500 will get you 325-350 hp. Stock turbo will work fine, as long as its in good shape. I do notice I hit 25 lbs boost easy now towing on hills with the 4.10's so it is about at its max (hence the reason I want a new one next year). I ran the stock fuel system for a couple years, it works ok with stage ones. For sure put an IC on if you are gonna pull 10k.

Good to know. So how much of a power difference does a turbo make if you can reach the same power levels on the stock turbo? It seems to me then that everyone with a D66 should be a lot higher than 350 haha

D66 is just a slightly modified stock turbo.
nothing spectacular.
Like talyn said, the D66 isn't much more than a stocker. The S366 flows a lot more air in and out, so it will make more power. How much, I don't know the exact number over a stocker. Again it all comes down to if you have a good combination.
I mostly just drive it.i have had it 7 months I think....not even hooked a trailer up. The 10k is maybe a once or twice a year thing about twenty miles to take my tractor to dads to help bushog.other than that maybe a open car trailer.we have an enclosed trailer but don't know if I will ever need to pull it.
I may hold off on ic and see how the egts go. My stock turbo seems fine.if I hit it right I have seen consistent 20lb boost from it.

searchtempest.com is what got me into trouble, LOL. I used it for the first time by entering '7.3 diesel motor'. I came up a dually cc and bought it! I just wanted a motor to rebuild. I usually never search for stuff because my wife does all the time. Its not that she wants to buy, she just likes looking. She is always saying, look at this one.
Oh,don't worry,I was on it tonight.there are some good deals...I got to sell something I think.I think I may try to sell my model t and buy a nicer specimen to start with.I hate to let my baby go but I would get more use out of a bronco than a t in pieces in my garage.
