2003 F150 Odometer

2003 F150 Odometer
I have a 2003 F150 and recently the odometer started acting up. Sometimes it works and sometimes it goes blank for a while. Does anyone know what would cause this and if I could fix it myself? I am a fairly good do it yourselfer mechanic. Thanks for any info.

Hi, welcome to the forum. It is almost always a bad solder joint in the cluster that causes this. The hardest part of the fix is removing the cluster from the truck. A quick search yields this:
