You got lucky with those teeth. Some were spot welded to the bar and not bolted like yours. The cracked manifolds are a common problem, but there are plenty stock replacements available in used condition. I just sold a good used pair. There was a post not long ago where someone else needed a set. There were several people that came to the rescue. You can also check eBay.

hey all, Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Project on this winter break though is going to be water pumps! the originals are leaking pretty bad in the garage while i'm away at school, and dads not happy
I went with bob drake pumps, I saw alot about skip hanney's rebuilds but after talking with grandpa (he tinkered with this truck from 86 to 2011), he said with such a simple device theres not $130 price difference worth of stuff that skip could do better than china... we both hate sending money over there but as a kid on a college budget, what can ya do.

but I digress...

the reason I've come back is that i'm wondering how I'm going to do this pump job at home with no engine hoist....
the only way i can think of getting the motor off of the frame to remove the pumps is to jack it up from the oil pan with some plywood to distribute the force. that thought makes me cringe.... wouldnt want to bend/ ruin the original pan...

my question is, how do you guys out there do this at home safely?

thanks for the advice!
Ben
