that's how alot of us learn what we know! i am 46 and still am learning...I never get sick of it.
I use to paint F-14 Tomcats when I was in the Navy. That's what started my painting..I am still no expert, but I am not trying to impress anyone but myself. It is certainly a rewarding task.
And doing your own work is ten times cheaper than paying somebody else

Bhd6th, check out Eastwood, online. They have some very good automotive paints for a reasonable price (compared to the local auto paint places around here). They also have everything else for paint and body work and then some. Eastwood - Auto Body Repair Tools | MIG Welder | TIG Welder | Plasma Cutter | Auto Body Supplies & Accessories

Actually we didn't repaint entire planes. usually just touch ups. but the colors were always a cool thing. shortly after I got out, they all lost there colors and gloss...flat and bluish grey are harder to detect...They were/are some wicked planes. I miss it.! Talk about the ultimate hod rod!

work work work, all day long! heres what I got done this weekend between waking up and heading out for the night shift of pushing little kids down a big snowy hill (snow tubing park)

bumpers off again, more sanding and priming and sanding again to come. also, PULLING TEETH! going to do the grille black along with fenders.

next: prepping rear fenders. first round of sanding and bondo, check. pretty good condition here, just need to man up and clean/coat the fender insides. hate pulling rust out of the hair for hours.

many colors of paint on these old teeth I pulled out

painted inside and out:

anybody know where i could find a stock exhaust manifold? my passenger side is cracked bad and stinks/carbons up the works under the hood. also makes an annoying sound. see the big crack at the flange? what you dont see is the inch long, eighth inch wide hole on the bottom.
