i dont get on this side much.but my buddy from work has this truck.its a late99 with no mod's. has 2 relay's by the filter and i'm saying the back one is the GPR other is rubber mounted. plug it in and starts fine so we put a GPR on it and still nothing. it's not getting a ground to the relay when he turn's the key on so it's not working. jump the relay and the glowplugs work turn the key on and ground the lead that is the - side of relay and it kick's in and work's. so i'm wondering what would cause this pcm? oh and the truck had an alarm on it with the PO and it's been removed by the PO. and it's done this since he got the truck. i'm wondering if they disconnected the alarm and something that ran the GPR.
Any help would great
Thanks john
Are the batteries fully charged? If while cranking the voltage on the batteries is not a minimum of 10.5 volts then the PCM will not tell the Injectors to fire.
Is there any smoke coming out of the exhaust while cranking?
The ground comes from the PCM and should be grounded as soon as the key is placed in run. Is he getting the Wait to Start light? You should have him open a free account and point him to this section so he can educate himself and we can help him get his truck running.

if the pcm is bad just put a switch on the gpr a lot cheaper.[/quote]

truck will start an run if pluged in. everything work's an run's like it suppose to .except the GPR working right he drive's it everyday
Thanks john
