initial time is @ 14*, and when reving it stops @ 30, however i noticed at idle that with vacum hooked or unhooked it doesnt move with the light, so i assume a bad diaphram?, also will a 351m dist work?
bought motor as is i really dunno what cam is in it, but they told me mild, anyways i bought new distributor, def helped vacuum now moves on the light, better response off bottom as well, has a new 1411 eddy carb, truck has 3.50 gears, not much off idle but mid raNGE it comes on hard, so hard in fact if roads lil dirty it breaks loose, but dog on bottom, kinda wierd, has dove-c heads its a 71 model block, runs ok but looking for more off idle
Your vacuum source is probably using the "timed" source as opposed to the manifold vacuum source, which only applies vacuum when reving, look to see where it is hooked up. Hook it to a manifold port and the timing should increase quite a bit, if not the diaphram could be bad.
Its on full manifold vacum, it was the diaphram, i replaced whole distributor, which im glad i did causevafter old dist out, seen it had wobble in shaft, bad bearing, so now i have vac advance combinef with mech advance, runs better but not as crisp on bottom as id like
