ScanGuage 2

Can somebody tell me if the cable that comes with the scanguage is long enough to run from top of the rear view mirror, along the headliner, down the driver's side piller either through the weather stripping or dash and then to the port under the dash where it plugs in. Im looking to get one on ebay, and they have one with two cables, but the more i look at it, i think its just the same length cable just longer in case you want to move the scanguage from vehicle to vehicle and dont want to have to rerun the cable every time.

I'd have to untie my cable from under the steering wheel and measure it and then measure the route in your description, and I will if no one else chimes in with an immediate answer, but in the meantime check this out. Make your own cable.

I haven't measured mine but I'm fairly confident it's not long enough.

I dont think it'll be long enough.

Can't you use regular cat 5 Ethernet cables though?

I haven't tried it but I'm confident it would work considering the connectors appear industry standard Cat 5.

You should be able to use a Cat5 butt connector and stick what you need
onto the end of the SGII cable. I was thinking of using flat cat cable to
extend the cable to where I wanted it.

How much are you paying for it? I have an extra brand new one minus the cable. It could be for sale...

I don't know how much a cable runs but I thought I saw on that link I posted it was $15.00..?

It's brand spanking new, not a scratch on it. Kept in bubble wrap in a box in my office desk drawer. I'd only sell it cause Christmas is coming and money is tight on this end. Plus I have one in my truck already, don't need it.

I'll post pics, give me a second.

There is a how to program the Xguages on Youtube if you need it.
