im looking to rebuild my 360 and was wondering what i had for options on boring and stroking ... i want to use my original heads and as much of my valve train as possible due to lack of cash
i wanted to do a bore .30 over and run a 428 crank for a 416ci but i was wondering how the valves would handle that after a extreme port and polish job
eagle hbeam rods
eagle 428 crank
keith black pistons
arp complete bolt kit
dont know if i should run a aftermarket cam or what i should or need to do to the valves
i really want 400+ hp and do you think i could do that with whats listed above ?
What about this idea- 360/390 block with an .080 overbore which is a 406 stock bore. Add the 3.980 stroke crank (428). 428 rods, If you run KB piston's make sure you file fit the ring's. You could run a set of the GT heads to save money and would be better the the 360 head. S-code intake. You would end up with 426.54 CI. If you have a 360 block from the 70's it will be fine for an .080 overbore.
All I saw was 4.250 and 4.375. You will just have to check for clearance when rotating the engine. Counter weight to bottom of piston and bottom of the block where the oil pan bolts to it to make sure nothing hits. Me and my Dad where going to build one for his 56' Crown Vic, but due to illness somethings just have to wait now. But I do like the Survival kits.
