Sorry dcdave no not my truck, but that was what I found after a 5 min Craigslist search under Charlotte NC.

It has alot of what you were looking for, and close to Charlotte NC, price is real good IMO.

* As close to stock as possible-yes
* 460 V8-yes
* C6 Trans-yes
* A/C maybe?
* 2 WD-yes
* Trailer or Camper Package-yes (its a F250, but of course all Camper Specials are going to be).

I just had some time to kill and though I would see what was available in your state for you.

Ha! Dummy me. :-) I didn't notice your post had an embedded link. Yes, I've seen that truck and checked with the owner. Didn't strike my fancy.

I also did a Craigslist survey to all cities out to 250 miles and found a few more. Didn't see any that I just had to have there either.

But then I'm kind of picky. I know what I decide on will cost me more than a couple grand for sure.

I've found a few I'd love to take a look at but the tend to all be out west between Arizona and Washington. That's a little too far to drive to look at a truck. :-(

I appreciate your tip on the one in Lexington though. Thank you.

Keep looking. I looked for a long time, a year or more, and even talked to some old truck gurus and had them scouting it out for me. I wanted a 4x4 f350 (79) auto all original, lariat XLT, regular cab, Rust free, I had more people tell me that I would never find it, it doesn't exist, they made them only one year, they are all gone. I found a lot of junk, but I found one in CA. A 79 f350 4x4 ranger lariat all original 88k miles trailer special, everything still worked. I was ecstatic. Keep looking They are out there just don't give up.

Dave--
Are you still looking for a truck? I've got one that is pretty close to your wish list. It is a 1978 F250, 460 V8, C6 transmission, cruise control, no A/C, 2 WD, Camper special package, standard cab. It's located in Muskegon, Michigan. It has never been out in a Michigan winter and has been in storage the past 15 years.

Believe it or not I still am. Haven't been searching far from home though. Most all the decent one's I've seen were in states along the Rockies.

I'll be happy to look at photos and ask questions about what you have. :-)

Nice truck! Trade even up, right?! Ha ha!
Looks like you also have one too many trucks.
With a Chevy 1500 and a Ford F250, we really don't need the old truck, so it's time to pass it on to a new caretaker.

A little fyi, concerning any craigslist find in California...

It used to be, any vehicle that was 30 years old, you didnt have to smog. So, today, a 1984 wouldnt need smog. But, Arnold Whats-his-Name, changed that to all vehicles 1975 and newer, need to be smogged in California. So all these rust free, especially Southern California, post 1975 truck can be bought way cheaper than posted.

If you see that they have mods, after market intakes/headers/air cleaners/no smog equipment, they cant be registered here, so are worthless to own here.
