Transmission Question
Hello, I'm looking for some help. I have a 1986 F150 2WD that I am putting a new engine and transmission in. I got the truck with no engine and trans but it is supposed to have a 302 and automatic in it. The donor vehicle is a 1990 F150, 302, Auto 4X4. My question: Can I use the Trans from the '90 and just remove the transfer case, and add a 2wd Tailshaft?

I'd just install the transfer case, even with only 2WD. I wish I had low range for pulling boats out of the water, maybe you can think of a reason for yourself. 'Course, I'd go ahead and install the rest of the 4WD too.
