Question Help! Window won't roll down

I have a frustrating problem with my drivers window. It won't roll down unless you keep your finger pushed down on the rear part as it goes down. The front part of the window lowers too quickly and jams it up (at least that's what appears to be happening). Are the window guides to loose or to tight? I disconnected the regulator and the window slides up and down easily.

Thanks,
Mark

Help! Window won't roll down

Update: I disconnect the window crank again and the window does appear to get stuck just by lowering. The only thing I can figure out is that the window moulding is worn and gotten "grabby" (it looks like the "fuzz" is supposed to keep the window free).

Can anyone vouch for this?

Thanks,
Mark

Post Help! Window won't roll down

I have seen this before only it could be different things. The track inside the door/window frame that has the 'fuzzies' when it is worn can catch on the bottom of the window knocking it out of kilter so it jams. But most of the time I have found the crank or regulator mech. to be worn or the glass to have come unglued from it's mounts. If you can pick up one corner of the glass without much resistance then it may have come unglued. Unfortunately you will need to remove the door panel and look inside to be sure. If it came unglued, you can purchase new adhesive, clean out the mount and reglue it. Or have a glass shop redo it. Also the moulding along the door edge between the front and rear tracks is called the anti-rattle moulding and helps keep out the rain from inside the door, which leads to rust.

Help! Window won't roll down

my window does the same thing. it does it on the passenger side also. when it is wet or raining out it does not do this though. i still havent tried to spray some silicone lube in the weather seal. i think this will fix the problem. let me know if you try it first and if it worked?

I had the same problem, both front windows. Silicone aerosol is the answer. Shoot it on there good, and should work, it did for me.

I just got mine working today, it took a fair amount and had to be "worked in" pretty good. Man, all that dinkin' around and a $2.49 can of silcon lube was the answer!
