You can't ride kids in your lap in front seats. They are too close to the windshield, dashboard and air bags in the event of a crash. They would have to go on the roof rack. Think duct tape, lots of duct tape. And face them backwards so the wind over 45 mph doesn't take their breath away! Watch for low tree limbs too, hit as many as you possibly can!

Ha! Didn't drive it like that it was just a picture of how big it was for the OP. My kids (except one who is in highschool) are in college. So not many kids riding in my Ex just me and the stuff I haul around mostly. But had one of these when they were little my original one, and a screaming baby is much quieter in the 3rd row seat with the stereo turned up. Figured that out one day on a drive back from Wisconsin after pulling over (had enough) and moved the screaming ones car seat.

Brings back memories.. my dad had a 1968(?) buick wagon
the 3rd row faced backwards - kept us even quieter !
We liked waving to all the cars that passed us - (Dad drove slow )
