HVAC Problem
For the past few months, there has been a clicking under the dash of my 2005 explorer when the **** is turned on heat. It always clicks and it can usually be stopped by playing with the heat **** a little but today I was driving and I lost my heat and the clicking got worse. I took the trim off and tried looking what was wrong but I could not find it. The clicking is coming from the drivers side right where the center console meets the dash and its coming from inside the heater box. I thought it might be a vacuum line problem but the clicking continues even after the car is shut off and the vacuum lines drain. It must be some kind of electrical problem does anyone have any ideas?

Google it. It's called the "click of death". The motor's that control the heat/air are bad. My wife has an 05' and 2 are bad on it right now and I've already replaced one. I just disconnected the motor until I get time to take it apart. My 97' has a bad 1 on the blend door. I cut a hole in it and flipped it with my hand. It had cold air only. Now it has heat. The motor's are about $40 and 4 to 6 hours to fix.

Sounds like a bad Blend Door Actuator. I recommend getting the part at the dealer as others have had issues with aftermarket:
