Help!

How come when I send power back down the 30 terminal of a 5 pin relay to use it as a ground, it flipps out and starts clicking really fast and doing absolutely no good for me. This is it, it's all I need to figure out and my lighting mods will be done.. It's really starting to **** me off because it hooked up properly.

Wait! I'll be right back!

It won't work beacuase the wire I'm using doesnt ground when it's of, it just goes neutral. So when the 30 terminal looks for a ground, the positive current it it holds pulls the switch back and forth between the 87a and 87 position. How can I safely make my accessory wire ground when it's off?

I am a little bit lost. You are right in the middle of a big wiring project, and it's all in your mind, and we are just reading your thread and from that, can't figure out what you are doing, or what you are trying to do.

If you have the time, you can open paint on your computer, draw a rough sketch, save it as a jpg, and then upload it either here or a photo hosting site like photobucket, and then you can put it in your next post and we can look at it. Or maybe a better description might help. Doing all that a solution might come to light.

I think I've figured it out. The 5 pin relay sounds weak. I'm using it for an alternating current. (we'll name this the accessory relay) #87 is a constant (+) current. #87a is constant negative. #30 carries the current depending on if it is on or off. When it's on it grounds another relay, when it's off it just interrupts. Both being ground on that (we'll call it approach) relay. I've solved the issue of the system not grounding the approach relay.

But lets look at this from another perspective, on the approach relay side.(only a 4 pin) It is wired with 30 being my switched 12v ground through the headlamp switch, only reason that is relevant is because when the switch is off, so is the positive feed to that relay.
The 85 terminal is connected to the switches being the dayilght sensor that also does an exit delay (all +) and then a dome light supervision switch from my remote start that turns on (+) when I unlock the car.
The 86 terminal is what comes from the accessory relay, wire #30 off of it. As I mentioned before, it grounds this(app) relay when it's off and inturupts it when it's on.
Then #87 that wire ignites my headlamps, dome/puddle lamps and back-up lamps when all of the above on the "approach" relay are doing what they should. FYI, yes, the head lamps, back-up lamps & dome/puddles are on a relay.

Im sorry if I just confused you more. I think what I need to do is put a diode harness on the #85 feed of the approach relay so that whe the accessory and ignition are on, the wires will not try to back track on that wire and active the lights. to be honest, I'm confusing myself. I'm going to test that wire when I get home and see if it is trying to back track and then if it is Ill put the harness in there and repost my results. This is my only hold up, I'm done with my wiring in this vehicle and I'll post it on YouTube when I'm done. I think you guys will like what I've done.

Nothing you're saying makes any sense. Please describe exactly what you are trying to do, and post a schematic.
