i have an 85 E350 van and need a new radiator and trying to find one at the junk yard or on craigslist locally. not too many around, but wondering if the radiators on an f250 are the same? that would expand my search options if it was. thanks for any thoughts...

 

Looking at RockAuto, Econolines and F-Series use different Part Numbers. But, looking at the illustrations, the dimensions and overall shape of your rad looks REALLY close to the one I pulled put of my truck. There's gotta be a difference, but I have no idea what it may be.

Check into the Champion aluminum radiator. Search E-bay. I have them in both of my trucks, and have had no problems. They are about 220 bucks shipped, and I got 70 for my copper rad. core at the recycle center! make sure that you strip all of the steel off of it before you bring it in, and if they wont give you top copper pricing, go somewhere else. FYI on the Champion though I would trash the included radiator cap, and run a Stant. There have been some reported problems with their caps.

 

awesome tip on scrapping the old radiator! i think i have found one somewhat locally to me that i'm getting used for a good price...and the scrap copper will pretty much pay it off!
