I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY TRUCK DOWNSHIFTING WHEN IT'S NOT SUPPOSE TO. DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY @ 55-60MPH IT DOWNSHIFTS WHEN YOU'RE NOT PRESSING THE GAS ANY FURTHER THAN YOU WERE ALREADY PRESSING IT. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED! IT'S A '95 FORD F150 WITH AN E4OD TRANSMISSION. THANKS!
maybe the shift lever position sensor on the tranny. I saw some posts a few days ago about this similar problem. I believe they said it was about $45 for the part if this is your problem. Also check for loose wires at the sensor and at the switch behind the dash. Does the switch work o.k.? I don't remember what model yours was. If it '87-91, the switch is easy to get to.
