the back up warning sensors are no longer operating, at least audibly.
however, the disable button on the dash is now flashing about when we get close enough to kick the sensors off....is one of the emitters bad? or the audible "beepers" on the center, left, right side?
if anyone has had this happen can you just check out which one(s) are faulty with a DVOM and check resistance or can you do that with these?
well, I was able to find out that the emitters are in good shape...each one gives an audible clicking sound and also is able to be felt if you do the following....
set brake, Key on, Engine Off, in reverse.
go to the back of the vehicle, place a finger over each sensor/emitter. each one will both click and give your finger a minute tapping sensation...kinda neat.
anyway all of the emitters are good. so now looked around in the manual for speaker issues. showed that I needed a 5 ohm resistance across the speaker to ground. nada. completely open. checked further and found that the open break is on the speaker. SO...
is the speaker a dealer item only or can I get this item at a parts house...already checked out advance some and it showed nothing on-line...
well, there is just so much help brimming from this forum....its rather underwhelming. :|
found the speaker on ebay. installed. works.
you know...when you ask for some help its kinda nice to at least get SOME type of response...quite a few threads around here just go unanswered I have noticed.
Maybe nobody knows. I've seen replies state: I don't know but.... Seems like a waste to me.
Thank you posing your findings, even though you got no response. Can you tell me where the warning speaker is located and how to replace. Thank you. Don
