intake swap possible

I'm looking at getting a 1994 5.0 and e4od combo for my 78 f100. My question is can I put a gt40 intake on that motor. Would really like something other than the large truck intake.

Yes you can but you may have to relocate your coil if aiming the upper to your drivers side. But then again you will need a bit of custom work if you want to keep EGR.

Yes any 5.0 intake will fit on this motor. If you have access to a tubular GT40 that is arguably the sexiest thing you could put on top off the motor.. but they're expensive when you do find them available and EGR is via an external tube. One of it's variants from the Explorer/Mountaineer or Cobra Mustang would also do but the solid cast upper plenum just doesn't have the same bling, some of these have internal EGR but some don't. Another option is the ProProducts Typhoon which is an Edelbrock Performer copy, both of these intakes have internal routing for EGR so nothing but the car style EGR block and valve are needed to make it fully functional.. no external tube necessary so it's a cleaner looking install.
