Alternator Question

Hello,

I have a 302 from a 1980 Ford truck that I am installing into a 52 Ford F1. I have bought a GM one wire alternator to run on the 302 but I am having a terrible time figuring out how to mount the darn thing on the engine. My question to you guys is have any of you ever put a GM one wire alternator on your 302? If so could you share a picture? Or would you recommend me exchanging the GM alternator for a Ford Alternator?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Why would you want to change to a Chevy alt? Just for the single wire? Keep it simple. I would stay with the ford unit. What is a couple extra wires?

as i remember they look alike, the gm and ford. if its not going to be easy then go with a one wire ford alternator off ebay.

Much simpler to install a ford alternator .IMHO

I'm using a GM one-wire with my 1985 302. Here is a picture of the alternator and PS pump mount (used Chrysler pump for Volare steering box). I didn't have the proper Ford alternator mount and the GM one-wire was something I already had...
