Well, i had $1200 worth of new tires put on wednesday so i went to get my trucks alignment done this morning, but i was told my ball joints are so bad they couldnt align it. Luckily, i have all the parts that i bought a while ago anticipating this moment (sooner than expected at 66,000 miles though). Just want to make sure you guys think i have everything before i begin the job
I also have a new tube of Mobil 1 grease for all the ball joints and u joints, am getting a Ford ball joint press and axle seal driver tool to borrow. Anything else that i might need so im not in for any surprises or hold ups during this?
The only thing I dont see is the new O rings for the esof hubs. I couldnt tell from the pic if they are in there or not. There is an awesome wright up on this on the forum with lots of Pics which was a must when I did mine. Good luck and take your time, it will come out great.
They are in there with the bag from diesel o rings. And yes, i have been reading that a million times and have it favorited, going to bring my laptop with me when i do this
True, i might do that. Do you know if theres anything common that breaks or anything that can get damaged upon removal because of rust that i should look into buying ahead of time? Those 4 nuts that hold the hub on look pretty rusty
I didnt have anything break but then again my truck has never seen salt. The only problem I had was getting that big vacume seal out of the housing , I had to basicaly destroy it by hammering on it from the back side to get it out.
