2001 F250 Lighter socket simply pops in/out, does take a fair amount of force though. 2 opposing clips on plastic ring-

Receptacle wires should be long enough to pull out then remove, but its depressing the Y to release.
Removal of the small panel with hook to gain access is necessary to push out receptacle
