Front Leaf Spring replacements???
Front Leaf Spring replacements???
I have a 1999 F-350 PSD 4x4. My truck has Ranch Hand full bumper replacements on the front and the rear, awesome I highly recommend them. However the front bumper replacement has a downside. It weighs several hundred pounds, slightly more than the 50lb stock bumper. The bumper is heavy enough that it cracked the front frame horn bumper attack brackets several times. Enough so that I cut them off and replaced them with home built 1/2" steel brackets (I got tired of welding them over and over). Problem solved.......or so I though. Well after several years and +334k miles my front leaf springs are sagging pretty good, tire for some new ones. Question is do I go with factory replacements and then do an add-a-leaf, or do I get a heavier built leaf spring altogether? Several years ago I snapped the rear 1-ton leafs and had a place in Dallas build me a custom heavier set. Do I just have them build a set for the front again or do I have other options? Im on the fence about what to do because of the added weight of the front bumper. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
